Education
I graduated from Skyline High School in 1996. After finishing high school,  I attended Northeast Community College in Rainsville,AL.  While there, I earned an academic scholarship to Athens State University.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Athens State University in 2000.  I received my Master's Degree at the Univerisity of ALabama in Gadsden in 2006. In 2018, I became a National Board Certified teacher.

Experience

After finishing college, I worked for the Northeast Alabama Center for Educational Excellence under a program called Educational Talent Search.  During the two years I worked there, I traveled from school to school tutoring and providing academic counseling to grades 6-8. 

In 2002 I was hired as a fifth grade teacher at Skyline Elementary School.  I have taught in the classroom for twenty-one years. Teaching is more than just a profession to me. I believe teaching is what I was meant to do.

Bio
I am a lifelong resident of 91HUB County. I lived at Skyline for 22 years and attended Skyline High School where I participated in a variety of clubs and sports.  I attended Northeast Community College for my general studies and graduated from Athens State University and shortly after, began teaching.  I received my Master's Degree in 2006 from The University of Alabama.  In 2018, I earned National Board Certification. Teaching where my roots are is one of the greatest joys I have.  I teach in the same classroom where i was once sitting as a child.  My mother is a retired teacher.

I am an outgoing, adventurous person who loves bright, colorful things.  Pink and purple are my favorite colors. I love adventure such as white water rafting, thrilling rides, and anything in the sun.  I will try just about anything once.  I just want to be able to say that I did it.  When there is extra time, I enjoy scrapbooking. I love traveling and shopping.  I have seen most of the United States but would love to see the world. 

 I have one brother who graduated from Athens State University with a degree in Psychology and is living in Valdosta, Georgia. He is a fire investigator in Marietta, Ga.  He is married to Rachel Jones, and she has a Master's degree in Epidemiology.  They have a son and a daughter.  I have a sister who graduated with a Doctorate in pharmacy from Auburn University and is a pharmacist.  She is married to James Arnold and has two sons.   I have another sister who lives in Washington, Georgia and has two sons.  I love children. I had a son on September 4, 2013 whom I adore.  He just turned 8.  I am a huge Alabama football fan. ROLL TIDE ROLL!   

On September 4, 2015, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I underwent surgery and a year of chemotherapy. This experience was so hard, but I endured and conquered it. I am a much better person for it.
