•      Academic Availability

Like other 91HUB County schools, Pisgah High School offers not only classes in the core subject areas but also classes which offer opportunity outside of the typical core class high school experience on a daily block schedule of ninety minutes per class.

Morning and afternoon enrollment at the 91HUB County technology center, the Kevin Dukes Career and Innovation Academy (KDCIA) in Hollywood, Alabama, is available to our students beginning the sophomore year.  However, even younger students may participate in programs offered at the KDCIA occasionally throughout the school year. Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of career fields at the KDCIA including carpentry, collision, cosmetology, drafting and computer technology, diesel technology, health science, HVAC, electrical technology, masonry, precision machinery, welding, and cooperative education. Students may also have the opportunity to join clubs affiliated with these classes.

Also, beginning in the sophomore year, PHS in collaboration with Northeast Alabama Community College offers dual enrollment classes to students.  These classes give students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school.  These available classes are in the core subject areas.

Additionally, students at PHS have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of elective courses beginning their ninth grade year.  These available classes may range from creative writing to leadership to event planning.

The student handbook available on this website contains additional academic information.  Our high school guidance counselor found under the staff directory or guidance sections of this website may also be of assistance to answer any questions concerning academic opportunities at PHS.
