    All students in grades K-4 will hav e ahcnage to be recognized on our Elementary Bison STARS wall.    To qualify for recognition, a student myst have A's and B's on their 9 weeks report card, demonstrate appropriate behavior at all times, and maintain good attendance.  At the end of each 9 weeks, students will have a chance to receive a gold or silver star which will be placed on the STARS wall.

    Gold Star Guidelines:

    • Have all A's on their 9 week report card
    • Have no behavior or attendance concerns
    • These students will also have their picture placed on school TV's and receive a special snack from the principal

    Silve Star Guidelines:

    • Have all A's and B's on their 9 weeks report card.
    • Have no behavior or attendance concerns
    • These students will also receive a special snack from the principal.

     

    Behavior and attendance concerns that will prevent a student from receiving a star include the following:

    • excessive or disruptive classroom behavior
    • 2 or more visits to the principal
    • soending time in ISS (In School Suspension)
    • excessive unexcused absences, tardies, and/or checkouts
    • additional concerns as determined by the teacher and principal

    At the end of the year, all studnets who have kept a star on the STARS wall for the entire school year, will be given an opportunity to attend a special field trip.

    Students who maintain a gold star ton the STARS wall for the entire year will also be recognized at the Awards Program at the end of the yar.

    Additional Notes about Awards Day:

    • Students who have maintained A's and B's on their report card all year will receive certificates to recognize their accomplishments.
    • Students who have maintained oerfect attendance will also receive certificates.  Perfect attendance is classified as being present in school every day with no absences, no tardies, and no check outs.
    • Students with outstanding attendance will also receive certificates.  Outstanding attendance is classified as being present in school every day with no absences, no unexcused tardies or check outs, and no more than 3 excused tardies.
